About the Conference

The Conference “AI for the Oceans” is aimed at introducing Artificial Intelligence and Modern Techniques in ocean sciences, early warning, and blue economy. This conference will pave way for creating interest in interdisciplinary research areas. Artificial Intelligence empowers marine conservationists to dive deep into a new chapter of marine exploration. AI potentials can be utilized to efficiently extract energy resources, discovering new medicines, apprehending climate change, and finding endangered species. This conference will bring industry and academic experts to discuss their innovation and exploration in the ocean. This conference is the outcome of the prelude event MTS TECHSURGE “AI FOR THE OCEANS” conducted on Feb 4, 2023. Ms. Zdenka Willis, Past President of Marine Technology Society, USA felicitated the event. The conference aims at new innovative research and industry-standard works in the area of oceans to be discussed and presented by the authors. The conference will have 12 sessions comprising 12 tracks as per the themes of the conference. The authors of the submitted papers will present their concepts to the juries in each track. The conference comprises 4 keynote sessions by eminent speakers from academic institutions and industries. The conference consists of industry conclave, discussion forum, product demonstrations and start up initiatives.

Advancing Marine Conservation Through AI

The Marine Technology Society promotes awareness, understanding, advancement and application of marine technology Incorporated in 1963, The International society brings together businesses, institutions, professionals, academics, and students who are ocean engineers, technologists, policy makers, and educators. The society publishes a peer-reviewed journal-The Marine Technology Society Journal. It has 31 Professional Committees (technical interest groups). The society hosts several conferences yearly. And, it supports 13 Sections, which focus on events and programmes unique to their geographic areas, enhancing networking among local colleagues, businesses, universities and government/military offices.

ABOUT MTS INDIA SECTION:

MTS India section is a registered society in Tamilnadu and was established in December 2015 by founder members Dr R Venkatesan and Late Mr. Nandakumar. Following the guidelines of the parent organization MTS, MTS-India section focuses on activities with thrust on student membership and participation with objectives of giving its members of academia and industry, a common forum for information and idea exchange. During the last 7 years, MTS India section has grown and spread to 11 student sessions in Universities and colleges viz. (1) SRM Institute of Science and Technology (2016), (2) NIT Trichy (2016), (3)BITS (2017) (4) New Horizon College of Engineering (2018), (5) IIT Madras (2019), (6) Sri Sairam College of Engineering, Bangalore (2019), (7) AMET University (2019), (8) IIT Delhi (2019), (9) ZHCET AMU (2020), (10) Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai (2022), (11) Anna University (2024). MTS India section members were honored with many prestigious recognitions, awards, scholarships within 2 years of its inception. MTS India section received Outstanding section award (2017). Three student sections, SRM Institute student section (2019),Sri Sairam College of Engineering, Bangalore (2020) Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai (2023) received best student awards. MTS members received honors such as MTS Lockheed Martin award (2017), MTS Fellow award (2019) , John P Craven Mentor award (2022) Special commendation Award (2021) and 12 student scholarships. MTS India organized MTS Techsurge SAR (2016), Fisheries Technology (2018) and AI for the Oceans Techsurge (2023). Every student sections have signature programmes like Student Run symposium Techsym (2021), Techsym (2023), organizing IEEE/MTS Oceans conference (2022), OTC Asia special event at Malaysia (2023) and many more competitions, webinars, workshops, trainings, seminars etc.,
